Every year, Halifax Search & Rescue puts on several major fundraising events that encourage us to have fun while educating and interacting with the public.

Eco-Endurance Challenge (E2C)
E2C is one of the most successful eco-challenges in North America. As an exciting 8-hour family run or 24-hour competitive race through the woods, E2C combines the challenge of an obstacle course with the fun of working as a team—all with great prizes up for grabs! With more than 100 square kilometres of thick forest, wet bogs, fast-flowing streams, backwoods trails and cart tracks, E2C challenges navigational abilities as well as endurance in the backcountry of eastern Canada. Held annually, this event is rewarding for seasoned adventure racers and first-time participants. Info: www.ecoendurancechallenge.ca

The Haunted Hollow
Come on out for the fright of your life! The Haunted Hollow delivers spine-tingling suspense during a walk through the haunted woods every weekend in October. In 2004, five granddaughters from the hill (known as The Girls on the Hill), along with their husbands, children and friends started the Haunted Hollow. What began as one of the best “haunts” to visit during Halloween quickly became a must-see spot that now attracts more than 750 visitors a night! The Haunted Hollow is open to thrill seekers with new surprises every year, all while raising funds for Halifax Search & Rescue. Info: www.nshaunts.ca
