Nova Scotia has a lot of lakes, ponds, and rivers.  (Unfortunately this winter we haven’t had good conditions for creating strong ice.) This indoor session will educate you about all sorts of types of ice, how to avoid falling through the ice, how to get out of the cold water if you do fall in, and how to rescue someone. This will be followed by an outdoor ice rescue session on February 13th. These ice rescue sessions are scheduled every winter and volunteers benefit from attending both sessions yearly: It’s a good plan to review the theory and practice of ice rescue. Facilitated by Lyse Boyce.
